oswego County Herping Trip

The Herpetological Society at Cornell is hosting a herping trip in Oswego County on Saturday, April 26th, and you’re invited! This single day herping trip is an excellent opportunity to get outside and do some exploration while also learning more about reptiles and amphibians. This is a fun, low-intensity way to become more involved with the Herpetological Society and wildlife in general.

Compete in the Ecoathletes cup

Want to elevate your sustainability and fitness goals this semester? Enter into the EcoAthletes Cup alongside other student athletes! Compete against 26 other schools to fund a coral restoration project that will help reduce the amount of carbon in our atmosphere. This is a great way to combine your passion for your team and our planet. Instructions on how to sign up are included in the infographic on the right. Get fit and go green!

CLimate change food fair

Join Mann Library and the students of “Using the Power of Food to Confront Climate Change” for an information fair on Tuesday, April 22nd! From 11:00 - 2:00 pm, different student-led organizations, programs, and departments will discuss and engage with issues around food and farming that relate to our current pattern of climate change. This will involve hands-on exploration and discussion on the impact food has on climate change, and what we can do to continue to enjoy the foods we love sustainably.

Wildlife Protection project

Looking for an opportunity to take initiative and build organizational skills in a way that contributes to sustainability? Local youth climate activist Zach Schmitt is looking for student collaborators to partner in the development of a youth wildlife protection group in Ithaca. Through a partnership with Roots and Shoots USA and the Jane Goodall Institute, this group aims to educate the community about sustainable land use practices for wildlife, present talks about the role of youth advocacy in protecting wildlife diversity, and fight for more wildlife spaces in parks. Leed green associate training

Work towards earning a globally recognized sustainability credential right here on campus! Our partner Leading Green will be offering live webinars designed to prepare students to pass the LEED exam. Successful students will become LEED Green Associates who are trained in green building practices and supportive measures for other green projects. Polish your resume with this credential that exhibits your commitment to sustainability!

The live webinars will be streamed on each of the following dates. All times are given in EDT.

  1. April 12th, 2025: 1:00pm - 5:30pm

  2. May 31, 2025: 1:00pm - 5:30pm

Webinars are also available online to be completed at your own pace. Each session is identical.
